This policy explains what personal data Dog Desires (“we”, “us”) collects when you use www.dogdesires.co.uk, how it is used, and the rights you have over it. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect and why
Contact and correspondence. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use this to respond to you (legitimate interest). Correspondence is retained for up to [24 months] and then deleted.
Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect the name and email you provide, the comment text, and your IP address (used for spam detection via the Akismet service). Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised and displayed. An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture there. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time on site, approximate location, device type). This data is aggregated and does not directly identify you. Analytics cookies are set only [with your consent via the cookie banner / describe your actual consent mechanism].
Advertising. Adverts on this site are served by third-party advertising partners [currently Monumetric], who may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads that are more relevant to you. These partners act as independent controllers of that data. You can control personalised advertising through the consent choices presented on the site and via https://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/.
Affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link (for example to Amazon.co.uk), the retailer may set cookies to attribute any purchase to this site. That processing is governed by the retailer’s own privacy policy.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers named above (hosting, analytics, advertising, spam filtering, email), each of which processes it under their own safeguards, and where required by law. Some providers (for example Google) may process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers are covered by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability.
